Our client is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer- Java to join their team!
Overview: We are seeking highly skilled AWS experts with strong experience in Java development to join a new team preparing to migrate our client's systems from on-premise infrastructure to AWS. This role will play a critical part in enabling our cloud journey, building native AWS applications, and creating foundational processes for future services.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and migrate at least one core service to AWS, leveraging native AWS services (e.g., DynamoDB, Aurora, API Gateway, SQS).
Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs), perform hands-on coding, and validate cloud solutions before transitioning them to the team.
Lead the setup of AWS infrastructure, including networking, observability, and deployment pipelines.
Collaborate with our client's engineers and stakeholders to solve technical challenges, optimize performance, and integrate AWS native services.
Document best practices, create playbooks, and guide the team through cloud migration strategies.
Educate team members on AWS solutions, including database migration, app deployment, and infrastructure setup.
Conduct code reviews and provide technical leadership to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
Key Qualifications:
AWS Expertise: Extensive experience building, deploying, and managing applications natively in AWS.
Hands-On Development: Strong background in Java development, with proven experience building AWS-native applications.
Cloud Migration: Experience migrating on-premise applications to AWS, including database migration (e.g., Oracle to Aurora).
AWS Native Tools: Proficiency with AWS services such as DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS (preferred over Kafka), and other ecosystem tools.
Proof-of-Concept Development: Ability to design and validate solutions with POCs, demonstrating their viability for production use.
FinTech Experience (Preferred): Familiarity with financial technologies or large-scale cloud deployments.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills..
Location Requirements:
Prefer candidates based in Scottsdale, AZ.
Candidates willing to relocate to Scottsdale by January may be considered.
Limited remote options available for candidates in SF, Chicago, or NY.
Employment Eligibility:

Candidates must be eligible for full-time conversion after the contract period.
