Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Project Executive to lead commercial construction projects in the Austin, TX area. The Project Executive will oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and profitability. This senior leadership role requires a proven ability to manage teams, develop client relationships, and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Strategic Planning:
  • Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial construction projects, from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and implement project strategies to align with client goals and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive business development initiatives and market growth.
  1. Project Management Oversight:
  • Ensure successful execution of projects, focusing on quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
  • Oversee project managers, superintendents, and teams to maintain operational efficiency and performance.
  • Mitigate project risks by providing strategic guidance and implementing solutions for challenges.
  1. Client and Stakeholder Relations:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
  • Foster and maintain long-term client relationships to secure repeat business and referrals.
  • Lead project presentations, negotiations, and progress updates with clients and partners.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Drive project profitability through effective budget management, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Review financial performance, forecasts, and change orders to ensure projects align with financial targets.
  • Approve major project expenditures and subcontractor/vendor agreements.
  1. Team Development and Management:
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing project teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Provide professional development opportunities to enhance the skills of project managers and engineers.
  1. Quality and Safety Assurance:
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety, conducting regular audits and reviews.
  • Ensure all work meets client specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in commercial construction, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, office, retail, or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage project budgets and profitability.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Texas building codes, permitting processes, and local construction markets.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in business development, client acquisition, and market expansion.
  • LEED Accreditation or experience with sustainable construction practices.
  • Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CMAA (Certified Construction Manager).
