Position Summary
The Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex commercial construction projects valued up to $200 million. This critical role requires exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct field leadership and management of large-scale commercial construction projects
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones
Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities, including workforce management, equipment allocation, and material procurement
Implement and enforce stringent safety protocols and OSHA regulations on all job sites
Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring quality work, timely completion, and compliance with project specifications
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and safety standards
Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports, progress documentation, and project logs
Resolve on-site conflicts and challenges promptly and professionally
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and client representatives
Manage project budgets and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
Ensure all work meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience
Proven track record of managing projects valued over $20 million
Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and technologies
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project)
OSHA certifications
Valid driver's license

Previous experience in Chicago metropolitan area construction projects
