Business Intelligence Analyst - Transportation Analytics

Brooksource is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our client's Decision Analytics team with a focus on the organization's transportation/supply chain initiatives. This role is a fully remote, long-term contract opportunity and will focus on delivering data-driven insights and solutions across the client's transportation portfolio. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical abilities with business acumen, focusing primarily on front-end analytics delivery while maintaining proficiency in back-end data processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) to monitor key transportation metrics and KPIs
Analyze transportation and delivery data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational improvement
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions
Develop and maintain performance metrics for various transportation segments including Final Mile, STO, Linehaul, Aggregation and Unbundling operations
Present data-driven insights to business partners in clear, actionable formats
Apply statistical analysis and basic ML/AI techniques to forecast transportation trends and optimize delivery operations
Support data-driven decision-making across warehouse and transportation operations
Requirements
Proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction and analysis
Experience with Excel for data analysis and reporting
Strong Python programming skills for data manipulation and analysis
Proven experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI and/or Tableau)
Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts for predictive analytics
Strong foundation in statistics and mathematical modeling
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information to non-technical audiences
Domain Knowledge
Deep understanding of transportation and logistics operations
Experience with delivery optimization and route planning
Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
Familiarity with supply chain metrics and KPIs
