Job Description:

TechPride has an opening for a mid-level (3-5 years of experience) Python Developer to support the US Coast Guard with reporting and data management services. The Python Developer will work in a highly collaborative environment supporting both ongoing operations and business process improvements.

This role requires a hybrid schedule of three days per week onsite at USCG HQ (St. Elizabeths) in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating the transition of sensitive HR data from internal and external systems to an internally developed system utilizing the Python language.
  • Acting as the python lead for the design and implementation of the above data analytics system.
  • Providing guidance and direction in the fielding of common software on the USCG network.
  • Working with USCG staff to streamline operations and assist in improving performance, reducing errors, improving customer service, and providing data analysis.
  • Conducting occasional code reviews and remediation in addition to guidance regarding modern software development practices.
  • Communicating and coordinating with other scriptwriters to enhance the learning of scripting and providing tools to users.
  • Assisting in the generation of project management artifacts.
  • Assessing project statues based upon established project milestones.
  • Participating in project reviews and providing recommendations to USCG project managers for project cost, schedule, and performance, improvements.
  • Providing input in risk and issue tracking and mitigation.
  • Supporting preparation and retention of project deliverables and artifacts.

Requirements:
  • Proficient in Python
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably 5 years of experience
  • Experience managing complex projects within estimated timeframes and resource constraints
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting work product reviews to ensure completeness, quality, and adherence to customer requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with executive level personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience providing executive level coaching.
  • Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain
  • US Citizenship
