Role Summary
The Senior Real Estate Manager will have the primary responsibility of autonomously leading the entire spectrum of planning, and execution for multiple developments within the Washington, DC region. These projects encompass a diverse range, from closing support to executing the development and management of multi-family properties. Additionally, the role entails overseeing pre-construction activities, community engagement, coordinating design endeavors, interfacing with clients and government entities, and maintaining communication with stakeholders. Furthermore, the Senior Real Estate Manager will contribute to securing funding for projects by preparing funding applications and collaborating with potential lenders to obtain loans or alternative financing options as necessary. Active participation in business development initiatives will also be a key aspect of the role.

About the Housing Center
Our goal is to create more affordable housing as well as unique, scalable strategies for wealth building in urban city centers like Washington, DC, and beyond.
Qualifications • 5+ years experience in leading real estate development, including asset acquisition and transaction closures. • 5+ years proficiency in managing the design, and construction phases of affordable housing projects. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Completion of a green certification development project (LEED, Enterprise Green Communities) is preferred. • Experience managing a minimum of 2 to 3 multifamily Class A rental projects in the Mid-Atlantic region from site planning/sourcing through lease-up phases is strongly desired. • Competency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook.
Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Real Estate Manager's responsibilities include meeting all reporting requirements mandated by funders and providing support to the team in devising and implementing appropriate supportive services. Operating with autonomy, the Senior Real Estate Manager must excel in: • Supervising all pre-development activities, such as surveys, appraisals, and environmental assessments. • Coordinating and overseeing project teams comprising various professionals like architects, engineers, contractors, attorneys, and lenders. • Managing the planning, design, bidding, and construction phases to ensure projects adhere to quality standards, stay on schedule, and remain within budget. • Ensuring compliance with all applicable funding requirements, including but not limited to HUD, CBE, Section 3, and First Source. • Responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for development projects. • Building and maintaining property cash flows and operations using Excel. • Utilizing online databases and market data to provide relevant market insights. • Supervising the property management company across 3 properties and handling any community, resident, or management issues that may arise, including community engagement. • Managing multiple tasks daily and delivering under tight deadlines in a demanding work environment. • Collecting and distributing due diligence materials for loan closings as they arise. • Undertaking various ad hoc assignments as necessary.
