Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance/Control Manager to lead the development and implementation of quality processes that ensure our products meet all specifications, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. This role will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from design to end-of-life, ensuring quality standards are met at every stage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and control policies, procedures, and process improvements to ensure products and services meet specifications, regulatory standards, and contractual agreements.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine current quality standards and establish future quality and reliability expectations for finished products.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance/control objectives in alignment with corporate policies and goals.
  • Develop and implement inspection criteria and procedures for various production stages.
  • Oversee receipt inspection and in-process inspection activities, ensuring proper manpower allocation throughout the production cycle.
  • Collaborate with production teams and other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Utilize quality management tools and approaches for reporting and analysis within each department.
  • Supervise inspection, testing, and quality engineering teams to maintain continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Work closely with vendors and the Supplier Quality Manager to ensure the quality of purchased parts.
  • Actively participate in on-site source inspections for purchased parts when necessary.
  • Design and implement quality assurance/control training programs for key personnel in collaboration with managers.
  • Investigate and respond to customer rejections or complaints related to product quality.
  • Manage the Material Review Board (MRB), internal audits, the corrective/preventive action process, and the calibration system.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervise employees in the Quality Assurance department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and resolve employee complaints and issues.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance management, ideally in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and lead teams.
  • Ability to make independent decisions that affect company reputation and product quality.
  • Direct knowledge of or experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Expertise in negotiation is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong analytical and writing skills are essential.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
