This role offers project management leadership for FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) modification projects across various global development initiatives. The Project Manager will ensure safety, environmental compliance, and cost-effectiveness while supporting all phases of project execution, including integration with vessel operations and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
Uphold safety as the highest priority in planning and execution while adhering to core company values.
Lead and oversee major upgrades to vessel systems, managing projects from inception through commissioning, including on-site supervision as needed.
Apply a broad understanding of marine engineering and manage projects beyond core expertise.
Follow established stage gate processes for project planning and execution, including preparing detailed presentations for senior management.
Guide schedulers in developing and monitoring project schedules during all phases.
Create and track cost estimates and maintain oversight of financial status to ensure accurate budget forecasts.
Organize and contribute to project risk assessments, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
Provide detailed reports and analyses regarding project controls, scheduling, and contractual obligations.
Coordinate and oversee engineering design, equipment specifications, and project requirements to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Prepare work packs with precise technical details, material requirements, and certificate standards, incorporating input from engineering and project teams.
Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to ensure alignment on project scope and make necessary updates as project details evolve.
Identify and evaluate potential vendors with input from Supply Chain Management.
Develop vendor requests, ensuring detailed work scopes, delivery timelines, and compliance with documentation requirements.
Review and assess vendor quotes alongside project teams to ensure adherence to commercial terms and project specifications.
Oversee vendor and shipyard designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and classification standards.
Monitor vendor performance, addressing any delays or compliance issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.
Manage contractors and shipyards to implement project specifications and standards efficiently, maintaining budgetary control and exploring innovative solutions where needed.
Incorporate all project data, communications, and documentation into the vessel management system upon project completion.
Provide support to vessel technical superintendents during shipyard operations, either remotely or on-site, as required.
Prepare comprehensive project close-out reports detailing timelines, budgets, and health, safety, and environmental outcomes.
Travel internationally to attend shipyard operations and oversee drydock activities.
Act as the primary liaison with internal and external teams, including engineering, operations, and business development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering and 10+ years of experience in FSRU operations, offshore oil and gas, or marine industries, with shipyard project management expertise.
Experience with LNG operations is highly desirable.
Certification from recognized project management bodies is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in software such as MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera.
Ability to work under pressure while coordinating multiple teams to achieve project goals efficiently.
