Reporting to: Board of Directors or their designee
Academic Req: Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in administration, business, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or other relevant behavioral science, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience with a 10+ year track record of exceptional progressive management leadership.
Certifications: None required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience leading a nonprofit business operation to include proficiency in personnel management, budgeting, and program development.
Demonstrated success in creating and expanding operations within and outside of the U.S.
Demonstrated capacity for fundraising, obtaining grant awards, and diversifying funding sources.
Experience managing programs and personnel across the globe.
Excellent leadership, communication, and technical writings skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of providing financial oversight and management to multi-million-dollar programs/projects.
Demonstrated capacity to scale up operations, streamline processes, and implement new programs.
Demonstrated advancement success resulting in substantial increase in revenue, including federal funding, foundation grants, and major gifts.
Ability to leverage data insights into actionable items resulting in operational agility and growth.
Field expertise and experience in child welfare.
Experience in the field of child protection, child sponsorship, or family protective services.
Critical Action Items:
Represents the agency by maintaining positive relationships and effective communication with stakeholders that result in a positive organizational image and reputation.
Actively seeks new and diverse funding streams, to scale up current programs and implement new ones, including major gifts, federal grants, foundation grants, USAID funding, UN funding, international donors (indigenous to the countries where CERI operates), new child sponsorship revenue, etc.
Ensures the agency is in good standing with all licenses, contract requirements, and foreign registration statuses.
Creates, updates, and implements program policies and procedures that promote best practices, a mission-focused culture, and professional development across all the nonprofit operations.
Conducts site visits at least annually to ensure international operations meet or exceed key deliverables and to ensure infrastructure (offices, grounds, and equipment) are adequate and meet the standards of the organization; staff are treated fairly and feel valued and heard; and programs are following local laws and funding requirements and most important, that children and families are receiving quality care and service consistent with the values of the nonprofit. Hires, trains, supervises, and effectively communicates with staff members reporting to this position.
Maintains ongoing awareness of the nature, severity and frequency of security risks in regions where the nonprofit operates and communicates with international staff and stakeholders plans for mitigation.
Responds promptly to remedy any program or accounting deficiencies resulting from audits, unmet grant deliverables or other reporting requirements.
Assumes fiscal responsibility by maintaining programmatic activities within budget and providing justification and documentation for all current or additional expenses.
Measurable Deliverables:
Maintains 90% or better compliance on established and or required deliverables and outcomes.
Maintains revenues and expenditures at 90% or more in compliance with the forecasted budget for the respective fiscal year.
Maintains annual staff member turnover at less than 10%.
Meets all programmatic, financial, and staff reporting requirements and timelines, according to agency, state, federal and foreign standards.
Conducts quarterly planned and unplanned program audits, to ensure programs meet agency and child welfare standards.
Participates in meetings with the Senior Leadership Council and Management Executive Council.
Other Responsibilities:
Promotes an organizational culture of acceptance of other cultures and spiritual beliefs, compassionate care, and professional respect.
Utilizes available technology platforms to monitor the agency's budget, revenues, expenses, and program-related data, to report on activities, risks, and to provide recommendations to the Board Chair and Governing Body.
Initiates, and leads global personnel in service expansion planning, budget development, and long and short-term strategic planning.
Advises on business, programmatic, and financial elements of the services provided, to ensure the clients' physical, social, and emotional needs are met, and global operations are thriving.
Inspires staff members to pursue the organizational mission by delivering quality services, engage in professional development, and maintain the highest level of integrity and ethical work practice.
Develops an organizational management structure which promotes best practices, facilitates optimum delivery of services and ensures the safety and wellbeing of the served population.
Maintains personal accountability for the performance and outcomes of all operations.
Works a flexible schedule, including being available at night, during holidays and weekends.
Requirements:
Demonstrates a working knowledge of global business operations, management and customs.
Proven experience and ability to travel internationally, to include obtaining required immunizations, as needed for international travel.
Maintain a current passport.
Maintains confidentiality in all areas of work, including program operations, client-related matters, staffing and financial matters
Upholds professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in THE's personnel handbook, including respect for staff, clients, and community partners

Compensation: Salary commensurate with candidate's skills and years of experience.
