The Talbot Group is the visionary manager and developer behind Barkley Village, a vibrant 250-acre mixed-use urban village in Bellingham, WA. Over the past 30 years, we have cultivated a dynamic blend of residential, retail, office, and community assets, and now proudly own and manage the majority of the property within the village. As we embark on an exciting phase of master planning and entitling property for significant growth over the next 10-15 years, we are seeking a detail-oriented and flexible individual to join our accounting team as a Development Project Manager.

About the role: 

The Development Project Manager will support and manage a dynamic mix of real estate development projects in Barkley Village.   

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Model and underwrite partnership investments for residential, commercial, and land development projects. 
  • Perform market research and demographic research to assess real estate trends and set basic underwriting assumptions. 
  • Create and manage detailed project schedules. 
  • Create and manage detailed project budgets. 
  • Develop third-party vendor scopes of work (e.g. consultants, engineers, designers, etc.) and assist with vendor selection process and negotiation of agreements. 
  • Provide permitting support for development projects. 
  • Participate and support in deal negotiations with development partners. 
  • Support the identification, qualification, and management of development partners through the design and construction process. 

 

What we would like to see from you: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent. 
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate development or finance. 
  • Highly adaptable and flexible, strong prioritization skills, and solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. 
  • A team-oriented approach and ability to work with different personalities and professional styles. 
  • Ability to work effectively in both self-directed and collaborative environments. 
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Bluebeam Revu. 
  • Preferred proficiency in AutoCAD.
