Our Client is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Benefits Compliance Specialist to join a leading insurance and benefits organization in New York City. This is a high-impact position that will allow you to interface directly with senior leadership in the company while also receiving direct mentorship from the Head of the team. Role Overview: This Benefits Compliance Specialist manages compliance for the group's health and disability businesses, coordinates pension appeals, organizes committee meetings, and serves as the HIPAA Contact Person.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee compliance for health and disability businesses.
Coordinate pension appeals and draft related documents.
Organize quarterly Benefit Plans Committee meetings.
Serve as the HIPAA Contact Person and support HIPAA policy implementation.
Promote compliance across business lines.
Contribute to strategic planning and act as a change agent.
Qualifications:
Experience in health and disability plan compliance, benefits appeals, and health privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
JD Preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and prioritize multiple demands.
BA/BS preferred, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred certifications in benefits administration, compliance, privacy, or data security.
