COGS has partnered with a utilities entity that provides wholesale electric to its member communities in the state of Georgia.
The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, building the Procurement function from the ground up in both a direct and indirect capacity. Managing procurement activities, including procurement in support of transmission and generation assets; IT; accounting services; and financial services.
This on-site role is based in Sandy Springs, GA area (4 days p/w). Offering a salary up to $165k base + bonus & benefits.
We are looking for someone with:
Develop, lead and oversee the procurement strategies throughout the procurement lifecycle. Implement processes to manage risks impacting the procurement
Plan strategies to maintain expenditures within program material budget limitation while maintaining quality standards. Identify best suppliers of equipment related to repair and refurbishment of, and capital investment in, the high-voltage transmission system. Determine best supplier/vendor under Master Purchase Agreements or blanket Purchase Orders for the supply of goods and services on an as-needed basis
5+ years of proven experience in a procurement management role in electric utility, oil and gas, manufacturing, construction or other related industries.
Deep understanding of contracts, compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and Regulations
Proven self-starter with the ability to develop and implement the mechanisms, processes and procedures required to implement and monitor the procurement strategies
Bachelor's degree required / Master's/MBA preferred in related field
Advanced knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g., use of KPIs)
