JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and energetic team player to be a member of the Protein Engineering group. The Senior Scientist will develop and run highly sensitive and robust in vitro cell and non-cell-based assays to characterize our novel protein molecules. Prior experience should include characterizing ligand-receptor blocking, cell-signaling, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Candidates with a background in antibody screening and effector functions such as ADCC, ADCP, ADCD, and TDCC is much desired.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Characterize novel protein and antibody-based drugs by developing, optimizing, and running cell and non-cell-based functional assays.
Study receptor/ligand binding, blocking, cross-linking and signaling to targets on cells
Contribute to the creation and development of novel protein drugs
Collect, prepare and organize data for presentations to other leaders of the company
Mentor junior members of the team
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS+15/MS+10/PhD+5 in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology or related fields
8+ years of hands-on experience with protein and antibody discovery research and development
Aseptic technique and background in both primary and immortalized cell handling
Flowcytometry, ELISA, in vitro assay readout and analysis
Familiarity with lymphocyte activation, cytokine release, and cytotoxic assays
Background in target validation and antibody screening and characterization desired
Prior experience working with multi-targeting molecules, cell engagers, and other similar Ig-based molecules a plus
The anticipated salary range for this position is $163K to $183K. The actual salary will be dependent on various factors that may include experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities.
