DBM Vircon has an immediate requirement for a Digital Consultant to join our global Digital Engineering team, to be located in the Tempe, AZ office. This position could be remote depending on the applicant.
The Digital Consultant will be responsible for managing digital engineering delivery on resources-based projects (oil and gas, mining). Client relationship building, innovation, and a solutions focus drive are integral to this role, as well as possessing the requisite technical skills. The Digital Consultant will need to have a collaborative focus and be able to work in teams within DBM Vircon and our clients.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for executing assigned projects and tasks and maintaining quality delivery by following industry and DBM Vircon standards. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients. Will be responsible to lead projects with a team of partners and or DBM Vircon team members to support delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Understanding the engagement type, scope, milestones and deliverables of the project from the setup phase to project closure.
Day-to-day management of the project or specific tasks within the project and maintaining client relations.
Contributing to or delivering reports including monthly reports that involve commercial, schedule and scope updates.
Identifying innovation opportunities where the company would benefit from better processes or potential platform technologies.
Working with DBM Vircon Leadership to develop strategies on how to proceed, assistance in developing the business case for innovation projects.
Taking part in R&D working groups and undertaking market research on new products, processes and technology.
Identifying new business opportunities with existing and new clients (project extension, new requirements, consulting services, etc.).
Notifying DBM Vircon Leadership and working with them to develop those opportunities.
Working with project teams to develop and optimise digital workflows, processes, and applications.
Creating and developing project specific digital engineering plans, considering current standards.
Management and maintenance of digital engineering, including workshops with delivery teams and clients.
Responsible to ensure budget and schedule is being reported correctly on projects
Auditing data, models and engineering information to validate compliance with company / client standards and specifications
Troubleshooting digital systems and refining best practices.
Auditing models and other digital content for compliance to project requirements, including maintenance of model audit schedules and hosting of coordination meetings.
Required qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) to perform essential functions of this position:
Very strong understanding of oil and gas, energy and mining projects including processes and data requirements.
Experience with interoperability and exchanges of information between design and data tools.
Is familiar with digital twins, through use and implementation.
Understanding of relational databases and data requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Ability to work efficiently in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
Commercial awareness to identify future opportunities with clients and carry out business processes (proposals, scoping, time estimation).
Initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
Your superior analytical, conceptual, business and design thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance.
Familiar with Agile project delivery methodologies in an Advisory or Consultancy context.
Qualifications:
7+ years of professional experience in the energy, mining, or industrial sectors.
Must have familiarity with implementing and configuring Hexagon SDx and beneficial to have experience with Hexagon design tools.
Highly desirable to have experience in other digital twin platforms (Aveva, Bentley, Samsung) products.
Competence in a range of software, for example: Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla, Microstation, Navisworks, Solibri, BIM360, Revizto, iConstruct, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Infraworks, Civil3D, ArcGIS, 12D, Cost X, Synchro, dRofus, FME, Maximo, ArchiBUS.
High level skills in basic office tools including MS Office applications, document management tools, issue tracking systems.
