The Lead HSE Advisor will be responsible for providing operational Health and Safety support to our manufacturing operations. This includes implementation of FFI Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic greenfield environment. Contribute to improving Health and Safety performance in the respective organization to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on the environment. Support the business by applying in-depth HS knowledge to offer solutions and advice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of Health and Safety Systems and processes including implementation, review, improvement, and eventual integration into FMGL operations.
Support the implementation of Corporate H&S programs and initiatives
Facilitate and support incident investigations with the view to learn and improve.
Conduct quality review activities of information recorded in Fortescue's Incident Management System (IMS)
Conduct relevant facility safety audits - including Major Hazards reviews and the ongoing management of hazardous materials and Dangerous Goods
Conduct contractor H&S Audit activities
Assist with implementation of Occupational Health and Hygiene programs and ongoing monitoring.
Assists line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles, according to local Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) law and FMG / FFI policy, instructions, and standards
Assist line leaders with safety risk assessments to ensure all processes are implemented
Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders in all HSE related matters
Ensure appropriate safety equipment and tools are available and being used
Providing advice and support for site related safety and training requirements including Emergency Response.

Qualifications and Experience
Relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualifications
10+ years Safety Management experience
Overall, 15 years of experience within the Health & Safety sector preferred
Demonstrate a strong passion for safety
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Formal training in Risk Management.
Relevant training in Environmental Management advantageous.
Safety auditing qualification (Lead Auditor)
Experience in procedural safety development
Demonstrated ability to problem solve
Intermediate MS Office skills
