Job Description:
Optical Systems EngineerOptical devices R&D physicist/engineer with extensive experiences in lasers, optics, electronics, systems engineering, programming, etc.Requirements:
- Design, validate, and debug the optics and optical systems in various modules.
- Enhance spectrometer by 2X in sensitivity and resolution.
- Prototype confocal scanning microscope: full system development in both hardware and software.
- Setup, supervise, or support manufacturing activities.
Expertise:
- Lasers: UV to IR, CW to femtosecond pulse. Optics and optical systems. Zemax.
- EE design/test: analog circuits, RF and microwave.
- Programming: Python, Matlab, C. LabView. Data analysis, simulation.
- Other: CAD, fabrication (Harvard Physics Instrument Shop certified), regulatory and standards (laser safety), communication and technical writing skills.
Education:Ph.D. (preferred) & M.S. in Physics - 4-7 years experience
