Position Type & Pay: DIRECT HIRE, Full-Time, 100% onsite, $25-30/hr. D.O.E
We are seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator to join our dynamic team in Santa Ana, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and supporting on-time order fulfillment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a precision sheet metal fabrication setting and possess strong technical communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Collect and analyze data to estimate the time, cost, materials, and labor required for sheet metal products.
Client Quoting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for clients based on project specifications.
Supplier Sourcing: Identify and source materials and components from suppliers to meet project requirements.
Production Planning: Develop project plans in collaboration with the estimating department, ensuring effective planning of routes through the shop floor to fabricate parts.
Technical Communication: Provide feedback on sheet metal designs for manufacturability and collaborate with internal teams for continuous improvement.
On-Time Fulfillment: Support the tracking and management of orders to ensure timely delivery of products.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a technical school preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision sheet metal fabrication, including experience in estimating, punching, forming, welding, and finishing.
Familiarity with planning routes through the shop floor for product fabrication.
Related training or experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication methods.
Experience in costing and the estimation process.
Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with design, production, and client teams.
MS Excel proficiency is a must; strong organizational and analytical skills.
Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
