On behalf of our client, J-Tec Material Handling, we seek a Project Manager based at the company's U.S. location in Baytown, TX. This is an excellent career opportunity for a project manager with experience managing the commercial site (post-sale) of large-scale capital equipment projects, preferably in the food and/or chemical industry. This is a hybrid position. If not traveling, the expectation is to be 4 days/week onsite. Expected overnight travel is 10-20%.

POSITION SUMMARY
The project manager handles the planning, organizing, and controlling of commercial projects for clients in the chemical and food industry. The projects are valued up to €40 million, with an average implementation time of one to two years.
You will work closely with the customer and the sales engineer and manage all internal project stakeholders, including engineering, automation, supply chain, and procurement, mainly in the U.S. and Belgium.
Total expected travel time is 10-20%, primarily in North America, plus an initial 2 weeks training in Belgium/Europe.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the customer and engineering to finalize the layout and develop and define the project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Suggest and negotiate contract variations in collaboration with the Sales Engineer
After fine-tuning the process P&ID, you will identify necessary suppliers, negotiate, and purchase the required process equipment.
Coordinate project activities and deliverables to the customer.
You will make sure that all customer and regulatory requirements and standards are met.
Plan and secure resources, and follow up on budgets and time schedules.
Responsible for risk management, reporting, and documentation of project activities.
Be the project Liaison between the U.S. and Belgium.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor's Engineering Degree, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
An active Professional Engineer license is a plus.
A minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in a similar industry.
You have a broad interest in both practical and theoretical aspects of process engineering with relevant experience in the field.
Basic understanding of PLC control systems.
Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relations internally across borders and with both new and existing customers.
Independent, flexible, and eager to learn.
Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written.
Team player with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to travel 10-20% of which some international travel, primarily for onboarding and training.
