Job Description:

The US General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations, strategic direction, and growth of manufacturing facilities in the US and Mexico. This individual will develop and implement annual operating plans, ensuring projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards. In addition to operational oversight, this leader will serve as a client-facing executive, maintaining strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

The General Manager will report to global leadership and will rely on a strong management team to achieve operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Planning:
  • Develop and implement annual operating plans (AOP) for US and Mexico and ensure alignment with the company's global strategy.
  • Monitor and adjust AOP implementation throughout the year, ensuring operational milestones and financial targets are met.
  • Provide clear strategic direction to the US and Mexico operations, aligning local goals with global priorities.

Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of manufacturing facilities in the US and Mexico, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders, including Operations Manager, Process Engineer Manager, Equipment Development Manager, Financial Controller, and Supply Chain Manager.
  • Monitor production performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement operational best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Client Relationship Management:
  • Act as the primary client-facing leader, developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, distributors, and partners.
  • Address client needs, ensuring satisfaction while fostering long-term partnerships and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to align operational capabilities with client requirements.

Financial Management:
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller to monitor budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
  • Drive cost optimization strategies while maintaining product quality and delivery commitments.
  • Present regular performance updates and financial forecasts to global leadership.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the US management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and develop future leaders within the organization.
  • Ensure teams have the tools, resources, and guidance needed to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in the industrial, tools, machinery, capex or materials sectors.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations, including facilities in the US and Mexico.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement annual operating plans and deliver results.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and fostering a results-driven culture.
  • Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, analyze performance, and drive profitability.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
