Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Lead Estimator with extensive experience in underground utilities, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and microtunneling projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using HeavyBid software to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, focusing on underground utilities, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and microtunneling.
Utilize HeavyBid software to develop accurate and competitive bids.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in bid review meetings and provide input on project feasibility and risk assessment.
Ensure all estimates are prepared in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil estimating, with a focus on underground utilities, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and microtunneling projects.
Proficiency in HeavyBid software.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other estimating software such as HCSS, AutoCAD, and P6.
Field experience in civil construction projects.
Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Estimating (CPE).
