We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Counsel to join a dynamic real estate investment management team based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This is an in-office role with some work from home.
The role involves providing legal support across all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and asset management. The Real Estate Counsel will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and business partners to ensure compliance with applicable laws and mitigate legal risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, loan documents, and joint venture agreements.
Conduct legal due diligence for real estate transactions, including title, zoning, and environmental reviews.
Advise on regulatory compliance and risk management related to real estate investments and operations.
Support corporate governance and entity management for investment structures.
Partner with internal teams to develop and implement strategic initiatives for portfolio growth and optimization.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the bar in relevant jurisdiction(s).
5+ years of experience in real estate law, preferably with a focus on investment management or commercial real estate.
Strong understanding of real estate transactions, financing, and leasing.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
