As a Buyer, you'll be responsible for procuring materials and ensuring their timely movement to meet production needs. You'll use engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels while resolving any issues with material standards, costs, or quality.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop annual sourcing goals and implement strategies (e.g., supplier qualifications, cost savings initiatives, and spending reviews).
Manage Kanban programs, including setup, education, and daily oversight.
Create and maintain supplier contracts, including Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) agreements.
Collaborate with inspectors and engineers to resolve quality issues.
Work with the Global Procurement Team on cost-saving and supplier improvement projects.
Handle purchase requisitions and research engineering change order (ECO) impacts on costs.
Perform new part setup and maintenance in Oracle.
Participate in continuous improvement events and implement process enhancements.
