Our client are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join a reputable and growing general contracting firm. The Estimator will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Analysis: Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine the scope of work.
Cost Estimation: Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
Bid Preparation: Assemble and submit competitive bids and proposals, adhering to deadlines.
Supplier and Vendor Management: Source materials and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project alignment with budgets and timelines.
Tracking and Reporting: Maintain records of estimates, proposals, and awarded projects, providing regular updates to management.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction estimating, preferably in the commercial construction sector.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
