Taiho Oncology, being a lean enterprise, presents an opportunity to experience multiple facets of Commercial Operations at a pharmaceutical company in a very short period of time.  Unlike larger pharmaceuticals, the Summer Associate will be involved with and have exposure to senior Commercial leadership.  Projects will have an impact on the business’ decision making and provide valuable experiences to take back to the classroom. 

Position Summary: 

  • This role will have multi-week projects in one or more of the four functional areas within Business Operations & Analytics: Market Research, Sales Operations, Supply Chain Operations and Financial Planning and Analysis (e.g. 1 Market Research 6-week project and 1 Supply Chain 6-week project). Each independent project will be managed by a functional lead, include independent research and analysis and end with a presentation to Commercial Leadership.  Non-project time will be devoted to meeting functional heads within Commercial and other specialties within Taiho Oncology (e.g. Development, Regulatory, etc.).  Housing assistance will be provided.

 

Performance Objectives: 

  • The primary objective for a Summer Associate is to gain knowledge of the Commercial Operations of a pharmaceutical company.  The Summer Associate should bring an intellectual curiosity and a “can-do” work ethic.  A successful summer would be spent absorbing as much knowledge and experience as possible.  Teamwork is emphasized and cultural fit is a key criterion to be successful in the Taiho Summer Associate program.

Education/Certification Requirements: 


  • BS/BA or equivalent in business, math, finance or science.

  • Working towards Master’s degree (e.g. Current graduate student completing MBA in 2026).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 


  • Prior business experience with Pharmaceutical or biotech industry exposure preferred but not required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience prior to Business school is required.

  • Interest in Pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Detail and quality oriented.

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to learn, integrate complex information, and communicate key insights in clear, concise fashion to team members.

  • A positive attitude, flexibility and a proactive thought process.

  • Team player who can work in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent Excel, Power Point, Word, and Project Management software skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical information and data.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.

The incumbent in this position may be required to perform other duties, as assigned.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $32 and $36 per hour. This pay range is based on the market range for positions of this type. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, commissions, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
