Job Description:

SUMMARY
Records and deposits customer payments to ensure prompt processing and accurate recording of accounts receivable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare daily cash receipts for bank deposit.Post deposits to customer accounts receivable.Reconcile and appliy credit card transactions to customer accounts.Run various daily and monthly reports.File invoices and reports in appropriate files via our electronic document management software.Process account receivable adjustments and employee account adjustments.Apply credit memos to customer accounts and credit/debit memos to credit card accounts.Create and apply credit memos for distributors who take discounts and MCB's.Research and answer customer questions regarding credits, debits and payments-to-account.Obtain sufficient back up for AR deductions.Coordinate with sales to get all AR deductions processed through in a timely manner.Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies, and participates in scheduled training.Report injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (AA) in accounting or related field from two-year college or technical school; and 6 to 12 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, reports and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with a variety of people and respond to basic questions in situations where common courtesy and tact are needed.

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Use such concepts in practical situations. Create spreadsheets and charts, and run reports.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases preferred.
Accuracy and timeliness a must.
Good data entry skills and 10-key proficiency
