H2M architects + engineers, a multi-discipline professional consulting and design firm, actively seeks aCompliance/Contract Specialistto enhance and maintain internal program management and compliance processes.

With guidance from the Corporate Counsel and Risk Management Team, theCompliance/Contract Specialistwill support existing departmental processes while seeking opportunities to enhance those processes by:


  • maintaining a working knowledge of statutory, regulatory and business requirements pertaining to H2M;
  • assisting internal staff during the review of bid opportunities, awarded contracts, and business records to identify projects that may be subject to those requirements; and
  • assisting internal staff (e.g., Department and Project Managers) with execution of tasks intended to fulfill, and ensure compliance with, those requirements.

TheSpecialistwill be expected to develop familiarity with all departmental activities but work primarily in the following programs:


  • Subconsultant / Subcontractor Program: Collect, review, and organize documentation pertaining to subconsultant and subcontractor agreements, insurance, and certifications; and determine subconsultant and subcontractor compliance with internal and/or client requirements, communicate deficiencies to others, and guide stakeholders in resolving those deficiencies.

  • Equal Opportunity in Contracting for Minority & Women Owned Businesses (M/WBE) and other Economic Inclusion Programs: Work alongside accounting, human resources, and project management teams to assemble data required to produce and submit accurate plans and compliance reports to regulatory agencies.

  • Corporate Certificate of Insurance (COI) Processing: Act as liaison between internal staff and insurance broker(s) to obtain certificates of insurance as requested; and develop system for collecting and processing COI requests.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel (use of formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and ability to quickly master new software.
  • Familiarity with engineering, architecture, and construction industries (preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with typical business and industry contract provisions and insurance requirements.
