About the Position

Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a knack for managing technical processes and ensuring compliance? Join our team as a Configuration Manager, where you'll play a vital role in coordinating document and change control activities for multi-million-dollar civil infrastructure projects. This position offers a dynamic environment to apply your expertise in configuration management. This is a long term, full-time, on-site position located in Norwalk, CA.

Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Coordinates configuration management activities, including engineering, environmental, and construction document and change control functions for capital projects.
  • Ensures implementation of policies, procedures, and plans regarding configuration management activities for multi-million-dollar heavy civil projects.
  • Manages highly complex technical configuration management activities and ensures compliance with configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Analyzes and processes contractual documentation regarding requests for information/change, change notices, change orders, modifications, claims, submittals, drawings, and project correspondence for compliance with laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Creates task orders and processes work requests in a timely manner.
  • Corrects and clarifies items written by various staff members for inclusion in final documents.
  • Completes task orders and modifications per final information supplied by Contract Administrator.
  • Sends final document(s) to Project Manager and primary budget approver and obtains necessary approvals.
  • Reviews and sends executed documents to contractors and staff involved in projects.
  • Prepares and implements Configuration Management plans, policies, and procedures for contract changes, document control, and record management functions.
  • Identifies change control/document control system and process-related problems which arise during project execution and recommends corrective actions and creative solutions.
  • Ensures accuracy, quality, retention, and recoverability of configuration management documents.
  • Recommends and implements improvements in contract changes, document control, and record management processing software and computer systems.
  • Participates in meetings with client and consultant staff, contractors, and outside agencies as needed.
  • Prepares various reports, minutes, and records.
  • Monitors and adheres to Configuration Control budgets, goals, and schedules that comply with agency-wide fiscal responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in configuration management, including 2+ years of relevant experience working on heavy construction/transit related projects.
  • Expertise in configuration management processes, policies, and systems.
  • Proficiency in contract documentation, change control, and record management.
  • Ability to analyze and process contractual documentation for compliance.
  • Familiarity with document control and project management software.
  • Understanding of laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to configuration management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing configuration management work for multi-million-dollar heavy construction/transit related projects.
  • Experience utilizing an Enterprise Document Management System, such as Unifier, or similar.

Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $122k to $177k annually. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidates level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
