And the Architectural Glazing System division (AGS) is implementing a new digital sales, ERP and configuration platforms to capture efficiency like never before.  The AGS Configuration team will create a real competitive advantage based on what's possible, not on the way we have always done it.


The OBE Configuration Solutions Analyst is responsible for executing the activities associated with the detailed analysis, design, construction, and maintenance of the Variant Configurator and Solution Sales Configurator (SSC) models for the architectural glazing systems and product lines within the new digital sales and sales configuration platforms at Oldcastle Building Envelope.

Here's What You'll Get to Do



  • Create, modify, and maintain characteristics, classes, classification hierarchies, configurable materials, configuration profiles, bills of material, super routings, object dependencies (constraints, rules, selection conditions, procedures), variant tables, variant functions, variant pricing, material variants, and sales order costing.

  • Understand functionality of multiple ERP public and private cloud offerings and how the modules and capabilities work together to complete end-to-end processes.

  • Leads programs to develop, maintain, and govern the architecture within the specific technical stack.

  • Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

  • Partner with product development, engineering, marketing, sales, production, business process owners, and procurement personnel, to ensure that all product and system configuration requirements are addressed.

  • Work with manufacturing to streamline ordering and manufacturing processes to ensure quicker delivery to the customer.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise IT team members, ERP platform resources, and third-party solution vendors, to ensure the continued reliability and scalability of the SSC technical platforms.

  • Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide decision making.

  • Assist in the development and validation of documentation and training materials as required for new products and system models being released for SSC into the digital sales and configuration platforms.

  • Perform functional and integration testing whilst ensuring efficiency and quality for all SSC related functions within the digital sales and sales configuration platforms.

  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of Configuration systems.

  • 15% travel required as necessary after deployment.


Here's What We're Looking For



  • 5+ years' experience in VC or SSC modeling, or similar configuration modeling with architectural glazing systems or similar industry.

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, Java, and relational database design practices and first principal design concepts.

  • Expertise with various software development and engineering tools including (but not limited to) AutoCAD, GitHub/GitLab, Azure DevOps, SQL tools, and Eclipse.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and manufacturing BOM’s and translate them to SSC models.

  • Deliver complex projects in a fast-paced, team environment.

  • Design and troubleshoot complex technical issues using first principles thinking.

  • Analytical mindset and comfortable working with large or incomplete data sets.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

  • Understand, validate, and rationalize business needs within the manufacturing operations environment.

  • Maintain a collaborative, team relationship with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the group's achievement of goals.
