SUMMARY:


Support Reliability Engineering and Systems Engineering vehicle development associated tasks for Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and government contracted assignments. The support is through performing various tasks such as, database development and customization, test data analysis, data statistical analysis, gathering technical data and assisting in presentation material preparation.









KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:



  • BSME, BSEE or a related degree with 3-5 years of experience in Reliability & Test in the military industry

  • 5 plus years of experience on total vehicle or component design and testing

  • Good verbal and written communication with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Familiar with reliability metrics: MTBF, MTTR, MR and Ao

  • Familiar and experienced with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and ICDs

  • Ability to derive System, Subsystem/Component Level Requirements

  • Familiar with TeamTrack applications PIM and DTS; including TeamCenter Vis Mock-up

  • Experienced with VDLS government system (i.e., TIRs and test data)

  • Ability to acquire Test Data via different acquisitions, DEWESoft, Campbell, B&K Noise Acquisition System, including utilizing test equipment such as ScopeCorder, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and many more

  • Creating and laying strain gauges on vehicles/components

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project, SharePoint, TeamCenter a plus.

  • Individual must be highly organized with an acute attention to detail, results orientated and able to plan and schedule.

  • Must be able to qualify or possess a U.S. Government Clearance.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop, conduct and facilitate component/subsystem/system FMEA, FMECA, DRBFM Analysis, including RCM Analysis and FTA, with cross-functional teams, e.g., system and design engineers, QA, manufacturing, test personnel, etc.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to determine root causes and potential corrective actions related to design and reliability deficiencies throughout the design development, integration and test phases; and incorporating seen failure modes into the FACARs, FMEAs and FMECAs.

  • Review, track and respond to Test Incident Reports (TIR) / Failure Corrective Action Reports (FACAR) for assigned subsystems.

  • Collaborates with Product Teams, IPTs and System & Maintenance Engineers to evaluate and identify opportunities to improve system reliability and cost savings for maintenance.

  • Develop & update RAM documentation including, but not limited to DFR, FMEA/FMECAs, RCM Analysis, TIRs/FACARs, and create packages for Assessment & Scoring Conferences.

  • Assist in prepare materials for management, customers &/or IPT meetings that address product reliability issues, as required.

  • Support Risk Management Processes by identifying, documenting, status and manage risks, as necessary.

  • Prepare and participate in program/customer Failure Prevention Review Board (FPRB) & Configuration Control Board (CCB), and IPT, while reporting on status and metrics.

  • Assist with failed test components, subsystems within the RAM returned material area and routed to product engineering, suppliers and external test labs which entails receipt, tag and track and manage parts

  • Review Reliability Contractual Data Requirements & Deliverables

  • Support other systems engineering teams when possible, such as Requirements, Systems Architecture, M&S/FEA Group, Test Engineering, etc

  • Experienced writer, able to create, author and publish accurate test reports for internal and external customer(s), with little to no assistance.

  • Ability to support and lead Test Engineering work assignments independently, while instrumenting, acquiring and reduce test data. This may require leading a small team in an overall project assignment.

  • Manage and maintain the instrumentation database, GAGETrak, which entails ensuring the test equipment has been calibrated. This included notifying the Test Manager when instrumentation requires calibrated 1-2 months prior to recalibration. Preform other duties and special tasks as assigned.

  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity so as to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner. This includes regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate.

  • Hand-Eye Coordination: must be able to regularly coordinate one’s eyes with one’s fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks.

  • Manual Dexterity: must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movement with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as phone, computer, and other office equipment, tools, or controls.

  • Agility: must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, Company’s property surrounding facility, or additional work areas.

  • Climbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balance.

  • Lifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.

  • Physical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.

  • Stamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods.


WORKING CONDITIONS



  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and copy, fax and scanning machines. Employee must be able to perform job functions with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable under these conditions.
