SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Warehouse Specialist/Section Leader for our Supply, Storage, and Material Operations (SSMO) section at the Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) on the Big Island in Hawaii to act as the Section Leader, working under general supervision (and sometimes acting on behalf of) the PTA Operations Division Chief.
This position involves overseeing and coordinating a variety of warehousing functions, including security, inventory management, shipping/receiving, and storage of materials. The Section Leader will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising subordinates and equipment to ensure the smooth functioning of operations while maintaining adherence to military regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):
Act as the Section Leader for the SSMO (Supply, Storage, and Material Operations) Section, working under general supervision and sometimes acting on behalf of the PTA Operations Division Chief.
Communicate contractual directives and organize tasks to meet regulatory guidelines and goals.
Supervise and provide work direction to subordinates, ensuring the completion of tasks related to security, storage, inventory, and material handling.
Coordinate schedules and determine task requirements to meet varying workloads.
Plan and organize weekly and monthly work schedules to optimize operational efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials in accordance with the Army Food Service Program and applicable regulations.
Verify materials and equipment against receiving documents, identifying and reporting discrepancies, damage, or deterioration.
Route materials to appropriate storage locations, ensuring proper stacking and palletizing following DOD and US Army regulations.
Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to perform various warehousing functions (operator qualification required).
Ensure that shipping and receiving containers are coordinated with appropriate vendors.
Maintain strict control of documentation, ensuring proper reporting and security in line with approved procedures and policies.
Prepare and input data into various Army software systems and generate monthly reports as needed.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of materials, adhering to physical security plans and safety protocols.
Maintain a positive and professional relationship with LRC-Hawaii, USAG-HI Civilians, and military units conducting exercises at PTA.
Ensure customer requirements are met while adhering to military guidelines and procedures.
Work Conditions:
Location: Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA), Hawaii.
The role requires working in an outdoor warehouse environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, dust, cold, and occasional rain).
This is a full-time schedule with potential after-hours emergency support responsibilities and overtime may be required as needed to meet operational demands.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform frequent physical tasks, such as stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and carrying materials.
Ability to work in environments involving hazardous materials and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least five (5) years of applicable experience, including supervisory duties in warehousing, logistics, or related areas.
Knowledge of inventory management, material handling, and warehouse operations, preferably in a military environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operation and certification.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 50+ lbs., stooping, bending, and operating equipment.
Ability to work in challenging environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, rain).
Additional supervisory experience in a logistics, warehousing, or military setting is preferred.
Knowledge of Army regulations and experience in military logistics operations is a plus.
Relocation assistance is not provided and candidates must reside within commuting distance or indicate a willingness to relocate at their own expense.
Current Hawaii Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Secret clearance.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
