YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Patient Eligibility and Resource Coordination:
    • Assess patient eligibility for care and guide them through the process of accessing alternative resources such as Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance.
    • Provide accurate and timely assistance ensuring patients understand their options and receive the necessary referrals from external providers.
  2. Referral and Documentation Management:
    • Collect and review health records ensuring proper documentation for external providers.
    • Maintain organized program files and support efficient documentation practices.
  3. Administrative Support:
    • Process denial letters and prepare detailed reports for program operations.
    • Manage communication channels, including phone calls, mail, and office supplies, ensuring smooth office functionality.
  4. Customer Service Excellence:
    • Provide outstanding service to patients and visitors, addressing inquiries and guiding them to appropriate resources.
    • Assist with benefit determinations and explain billing processes to patients and providers clearly and effectively.
  5. Operational and Team Collaboration:
    • Actively participate in team meetings and training programs, contributing to a collaborative and well-informed work environment.
    • Manage purchase orders to ensure timely payments for services and supplies.
  6. Compliance and Confidentiality:
    • Uphold HIPAA and Privacy act standards maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.
    • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, consistently adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Twelve (12) months of related experience, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and billing practices.
  • Experience working with multicultural patients and interpreters for non-English speakers is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Certification in Medical Administration is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
    • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills to conduct multiple tasks efficiently.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals and ensure seamless delivery of services.
    • Contribute to a positive team environment by actively participating and contributing to meetings and training sessions.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance:
    • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to compliance standards.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and privacy protocols.

WORK CONDITIONS:

Work Environment:

  • Working within a professional healthcare setting, you will adhere to high standards of safety and infection control, while experiencing the fulfillment of providing critical support services in a fast-paced, patient-centered facility.

Schedule:

  • Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am. to 4:30 pm.

Health and Security Requirements:

  • Compliance with vaccination requirements and submission of documentation for vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Successfully complete a background check in compliance with the Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
  • Must obtain a government-issued contractor identification badge.
