Summary Description
Working under supervision of the Principal Investigator of the Terrestrial Wildlife Ecology Laboratory (TWEL) the TWEL Business Operations Analyst is responsible for operation, maintenance, and scheduling use of fleet field vehicles; prepares budgets, tracks expenditures, and assists with purchase requisitions and arranging travel; prepares and compiles reports; manages a summer internship program, performs routine communications with cooperating agencies and provides logistical supports for research, teaching, and outreach programs of Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife faculty and staff.
Detailed Position Description
Working under supervision of the Principal Investigator of the Terrestrial Wildlife Ecology Laboratory (TWEL) the TWEL Research Administration Specialist:
Assumes responsibility for annual planning, budgeting, reporting, execution, and fiscal management of the TWEL operational support project (~$200,000/year), including proposal development, project implementation, and managing professional outreach and internship programs under the operational support project.
Prepares quarterly and annual reports of activities and accomplishments for the TWEL operational support project; compiles, formats, and edits quarterly progress and annual completion reports on activities and accomplishments of research projects prepared by TWEL faculty, staff, and students.
Assists TWEL PI's and CoPIs with development of annual research proiect proposal narratives and budgets and tracking expenditures for other (~6-8) research projects funded by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Oversees day-to-day maintenance, scheduling, and operation of a fleet of ~10 field vehicles.
Assists with or prepares and submits purchase requisitions for field or laboratory supplies and equipment and coordinates travel for TWEL faculty, staff and graduate students. Processes spend authorizations and expense reports in Workday.
Performs other duties as assigned, including communicating with Ohio Division of Wildlife administrators and research staff regarding TWEL operations and support of the research, outreach, and teaching missions of the Wildlife Ecology and Management Program in the School of Environment and Natural Resources.
Oversees day-to-day maintenance of SENR (non-TWEL) vehicles; manages inventory, storage, and usage of field and lab equipment for Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife faculty and graduate students, assists Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife faculty with arranging travel, spend authorizations, and purchase requisitions for teaching and research supplies and equipment in Workday.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, natural resources or related field or equivalent experience and 2 years of relevant experience required. Graduate degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
