As a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering at RXO, you’ll lead a talented team of five engineers, including Network Design Engineers and Cost Optimization Engineers, working on-site, remotely within the U.S. and internationally. With a strong background in transportation and logistics, particularly in the automotive industry, you’ll provide innovative, timely and professional solutions to keep our operations running smoothly. What your day-to-day will look like:


  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship and fostering collaboration to ensure high performance

  • Conduct data analysis and cost-saving projects while overseeing team-led initiatives to achieve operational and financial goals

  • Design and optimize transportation networks to meet customer requirements and enhance logistics efficiency

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, Compliance and Safety to integrate logistics solutions and deliver comprehensive training programs

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and align with organizational objectives

  • Establish and maintain standards by conducting staffing and efficiency analyses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and coordinating operational startups

  • Develop and implement time estimates for process documentation, conversions and the testing and deployment of new processes

  • Create and manage equipment and operational supply lists, publish startup milestones and handle purchase requisitions

  • Benchmark industry techniques, software and engineering projects to adopt best practices and enhance team innovation

  • Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring resource allocation improves efficiency and sustainability while supporting professional growth

What you’ll need to excel:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field
  • 5 years of strong engineering and managerial experience in the transportation and logistics industry with a strong focus on network design and cost optimization principles

It’d be great if you also have:


  • Proven expertise in network design, cost optimization and transportation strategy development, with a strong foundation in data analysis and project management

  • Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python, advanced Excel, Appian and Supply Chain Guru, as well as analytical principles like statistical analysis, predictive modeling and optimization techniques

  • Certification or practical experience in Lean, Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies, including DMAIC, value stream mapping, 5S and root cause analysis

  • Strong leadership, team development and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and guide teams through complex project life cycles

  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with the ability to learn new software quickly and deliver actionable insights for continuous improvement

  • Availability to travel up to 50% or more as needed to meet business demands, ensuring hands-on support and collaboration

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to present organized, clear and audience-appropriate information and data
