Oneonta City School District has the following anticipated vacancies: Security Guards This is a 10-month position with benefits and a starting salary of $29,580. Applicants must possess a valid NYS Security Guard Registration Card which must be presented at time of appointment and maintained during employment OR qualify for an exemption per the NYS Division of Licensing Services. This position is subject to the satisfaction of all civil services requirements. We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant School Security Guard to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will monitor school grounds, entrances, and hallways, preventing unauthorized access and addressing potential security concerns. Responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, enforcing school policies, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with school administrators and local law enforcement as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational and communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful presence. Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred, and familiarity with safety protocols and conflict resolution is essential.
