Job Description:

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Department of Neurology , is seeking full-time, fellowship-trained Headache Neurologists at the Assistant, Associate and Professor rank to participate in clinical outpatient care and educational programs, and aid in developing a comprehensive multi-disciplinary headache program.

Located in the Texas Medical Center in the heart of Houston, this position is affiliated with McGovern Medical School, the 6th largest medical school in the nation. We are seeking candidates who have a strong interest in headache and facial pain. The successful candidate should have completed a headache fellowship and be board certified by the ABPN for adult or child Neurology. Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas.

Clinical responsibilities would include up to five(5) days of clinic a week for clinical assessment and management of patients with headache. Support, including protected time, for the development of a Headache Fellowship program is also available. As an academic center, research and teaching are integral to our mission, and we welcome candidates with an interest in exploring clinical trials, grant applications, or teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, and fellows. Academic rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Qualifications :


  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Graduate of an ACGME accredited neurology residency
  • Completed headache fellowship
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by the ABPN with fellowship training or equivalent experience working in Headache Medicine
  • Active board-certifications
  • Texas medical license (or eligible to be licensed)
  • Outstanding clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
