General Information
- Number of Beds: 8
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1
- Unit Staffing Description: Mixed patient population, open ICu, goal staffing 4 RNs 24/7
- Type of equipment: GE B650 cardiac monitors, vents, Gaymar cooling
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling Req: Self-scheduling encouraged, EOW, OT okay if available, flexible scheduling
- Floating policy: ICU may float to critical care or intermediate care areas when needed
- Patient Experience: AIDET validation during orientation, unit is focused on Nurse Communication (nurses listen carefully and nurse explain things in a way patients can understand), white board use, hourly rounding, bedside care conference/hand off
Requested Skill Set: Medical and Surgical ICU experience. ACLS/BLS. AIBP experience and CCRN preferred.
Procedures performed on unit: Ventilator care, Therapeutic Hypotherrnia. PCI/STEMI, IABP, invasic hemodynamic monitoring, TEE/cardioversion, temp pacer, sepsis, stroke/TPA, DKA, ICU RNs are responders for code blue and Rapid Response Team
Dress Code: Professional scrubs and apprearance at all times (no specific color required at this time)
