Job Description:

The Manager - District Human Resources leads their respective district HR team in meeting business objectives in HR Service Delivery, including employee relations, development, talent acquisition and HR service delivery quality. The Manager - District Human Resources and key stakeholders collaborate to ensure operational success by upholding the company's commitment to putting People First. Plans, directs, implements and monitors compliance with human resources (HR) policies, practices and procedures for FedEx operations within the assigned district. Travels up to 75% of the time with overnight stays required as business needs dictate.




Essential Functions


• Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity.
• Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary.
• Working with the Sr. Manager - Regional Human Resources, oversees controllable expenses; ensures compliance and addresses variances and other budget concerns.
• Responsibility for the oversight and maintenance of positive employee and labor relations.
• Ensures compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and FedEx policies, procedures, and processes.
• Manages the investigative process by ensuring HR team submits quality and timely reports.
• Conducts investigations within the district; provides a thorough and accurate investigative report with appropriate recommendation(s) for corrective action.
• Conducts meetings with the appropriate personnel to address any HR issues or employee relations concerns; encourages feedback and develops action plan if needed.

  • Analyzes district HR metrics and provides creative solutions and action plans as necessary to ensure satisfactory results.
    • Oversee the hiring process within assigned district; assists management with the employee selection process
    • Monitors and administers HR-related programs and processes within the district; communicates results to management and develops action plans when necessary.
    • Collaborates with Manager - Regional HR Specialists and HR Specialists on consultation, best practice and statistics for success in support employee relations, development, talent acquisition and HR service delivery quality.
    • Builds strong business partner relationships within HR and field operations to identify challenges and to create responsive solutions.
    • Leads talent development and succession planning efforts for the District HR team as well as support the DMD in the same areas for the District Operations Team
    • Assists in the evaluation and communication of results of the annual employee survey.
    • Provides guidance with follow up and action planning.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.




    Minimum Education


    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related discipline required.





    Minimum Experience


    • Seven (7) years professional HR Generalist or related experience required.





    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to human resources.

    • Strong, demonstrated knowledge of employment law and pertinent government regulations and requirements

    • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.

    • Knowledge of various HRIS systems Requires knowledge of business operations, requirements processing and business modeling concepts.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate across all levels of management and interface with numerous departments.

    • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.

    • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

    • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.

    • Ability to think creatively and implement ideas

    • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.

    • Ability to work in a matrix environment collaborating with many stakeholders.

    Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.



    Pay: $8,670.73/month - $11,488.71/month
