Job Summary



Under the guidance of the department supervisor, provide leadership to the team by coordinating workloads, provide support to ensure that the team delivers, monitor any issues, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer and department goals. Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, while fostering a culture of working safely.



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture


• Provide training to new employees and identify training needs and cross training throughout the department


• Set clear team goals


• Assign team rotation schedule


• Oversee day-to-day operation of the department ad provide support for the team to achieve goals


• Open and confirm production orders and ensure kanban levels and safety stock are maintained


• Report inventory discrepancies to supervisor or inventory personnel


• Identify BOM and routing discrepancies


• Prepare line set ups for following shift


• Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with the policy


• Motivate team members


• Listen to team members' feedback and assist to resolve any issues or conflicts


• Champion proper housekeeping practices, safety policies and use of personal protective equipment, as well as other company policies


• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and one year related experience


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedures


• Excellent communication and leadership skills


• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and prioritize duties and deadlines with limited supervision


• Basic math skills

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Proven work experience as a team leader


• Basic computer knowledge for production tasks


• Ability to set up scales and jigs
