Our Moorestown, NJ location is seeking a qualified candidate for a Production Manager position on our 2nd Shift. This position is responsible for directly supervising and training manufacturing personnel, in a manner consistent with overall Company’s policies and procedures. Plan and manage the day-to-day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets. Improve performance through coaching, training and developing employees. Implement and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures 


Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:


 



  • Manage labor effectively for entire shift – approx. 20 direct reports

  • Provide the vision, leadership, and coaching of the Toyota Production System (TPS) needed to drive plant operations and continuous improvement  

  • Work closely with all departments to achieve plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including safety, environment, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost

  • Ensure that all personnel, prior to the start of shift, are wearing the correct safety equipment and that safety awareness is maintained throughout the shift

  • Ensure that all safety and incident reporting procedures are followed as well as all individuals are properly trained and their job functions are being performed correctly

  • Track absenteeism and review and approve employees’ time worked in timekeeping system

  • Perform performance evaluations for direct reports

  • Investigate and resolve employee relation issues/conflicts

  • Complete verbal and written disciplinary warnings/counseling in accordance with the company’s policy and procedures

  • Regular and predictable attendance and adherence to all safety policies and procedures


 


 


Here’s What We Are Looking For:



  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in non-climate-controlled environments

  • Possess a working knowledge of TPS concepts e.g. work place organization/5S, root cause analysis

  • Understands production planning concepts - able to plan, allocate resources, manage production and coordinate people and equipment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership.

  • Able to navigate a computer effectively e.g. send and receive emails, track and manage production orders, use Microsoft 365 including Word, Outlook, and Excel 

  • Able to read and perform basic mathematical calculations as well as read and write measurements in numbers, fractions and decimals at a high school education or equivalent level

  • Able to read and properly utilize a tape measure

 Physical Requirements


 



  • Must be able to stand on concrete floor wearing safety boots for 8 to 12 hrs.
