Description:

Role Summary/Purpose

In this role, the pricing director will play a key role in the development and implementation of the company's pricing strategy, policy & processes with the expectations of delivering sustainable improvements in margin performance and increased market share. The Director will assist in collecting, maintaining and analyzing data regarding our internal & external customers, products, prices, costs, margins and competitors to support the business's pricing strategy. The Director will also work with the sales, product management, finance, and operations teams, providing costs analysis, sales data, price files, competitive information and pricing support for customer orders and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy Development: Design and implement pricing models, frameworks, and tactics to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze pricing data, market trends, customer behavior, and competitive positioning. Develop insights that inform pricing decisions and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and assess pricing performance across products and markets, generating regular reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Product Management teams to ensure alignment on pricing strategies and to gather market feedback.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends, competitive pricing, and emerging data analysis methodologies.
  • Forecasting & Scenario Planning: Develop forecasting models and conduct scenario analyses to assess potential impacts of pricing changes on revenue and margins.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes using automation
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to team members on data analysis techniques and pricing tools.

In addition, you will:

  • Lead the analysis of profitability by customer segment and product / transaction type
  • Assist in creating and maintaining pricing dashboards and data integrity
  • Implement KPIs for the regional sales team to support improved pricing strategy and develop KPIs to measure product line price performance
  • Develop capabilities to understand customer segmentation, competitive position and target value propositions to develop the company's pricing strategy
  • Support price training sessions to educate Sales, Product Managers and other key functions on different pricing methodologies Work with leadership teams to identify alternative revenue models and opportunities



Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in pricing, finance, or data analytics roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or director-level position.

Technical Skills

  • Excel: Advanced skills, including proficiency in complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, macros, and VBA scripting.
  • Power BI: Expertise in Power BI for creating dashboards, visualizations, and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Python: Strong ability to use Python for data analysis, scripting, automation, and handling large datasets. Experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib is preferred.
  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Experience with statistical analysis, pricing models, and forecasting techniques. Knowledge of SQL and other data manipulation tools is a plus.

  • Proven data analysis experience and a solid grasp of pricing models & techniques
  • Ability to quickly establish a vision, and the tenacity to drive them through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with an ability to translate data insights into actionable pricing strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to stakeholders.
