Job Description:
Associate Director of Nursing/Dedication Unit Manager-Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home.
$44.768-$62.668 based on nursing experience (Breakdown: $41.768-59.668 + $3/hour differential on hours worked).
This position is responsible for overseeing a caseload of up to 30 skilled members as well as approximately 25 clinical nursing staff.
Job Duties:
Provides clinical and administrative management of direct care team on a skilled care unit. Monitors staff, supervises assigned licensed nurses, aides, and unit clerk. Monitors staff and complete performance reviews, assures effective orientation, education, and competency reviews. Works collaboratively with staff, Administration, and other departments to ensure member focused care. Coordinates nursing process of the interdisciplinary care of members, oversees process of timekeeping system for assigned staff. Assures high standards of infection control.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska and one year of experience assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others.
Prefers three years' experience in geriatric, long term care, and skilled nursing practice as well as two years of supervisory experience. .
Work schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional weekends on call availability as well as meeting with staff on EVE and NOC shift occasionally.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Successful candidate must have excellent critical thinking, communication, organization and analytical skills. Knowledge of: registered nursing theory and practice; accepted standards of care; policies and procedures governing nursing care; sanitation and infection control standards; planning, providing and evaluating quality nursing care; Nebraska regulations pertaining to nursing practice, including scope of practice parameters.
