About the Team:The Virtual Services Gateway (vSG) team at Comcast focuses on deploying next-generation network services close to the customer edge using NFV technologies. We manage a high-performance, software-driven platform designed for low-latency traffic forwarding and agile service creation. Our team ensures seamless integration with existing network elements and maintains high reliability and efficiency.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software/Network Application Engineer with expertise in network technologies, containerization, automation, and DevOps. The ideal candidate will have experience working with network platforms, containerization, and automation tools, as well as strong Python and Django development skills.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and deploy network solutions using various platforms and technologies.


  • Develop and implement containerization strategies using Kubernetes and service chaining.


  • Automate network functions using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Concourse, SonarQube, and Artifactory.


  • Develop and maintain data analysis and monitoring tools using ELK, Splunk, Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, and Sandvine.


  • Develop RESTful APIs using Python and Django that integrate with multiple third-party APIs.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions.


  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network, Kubernetes, and automation.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience in Software/Network Application Engineering.


  • Experience working with network technologies, including routing, switching, and virtualization.


  • Experience with containerization of virtual services, Kubernetes, and service chaining.


  • Proficiency with automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Concourse, SonarQube, and Artifactory.


  • Experience with data analysis and monitoring tools using ELK, Splunk, Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, and Sandvine.


  • Core Python development skills with expertise in Django and experience developing RESTful APIs.


  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Nice to Have:


  • Experience with DevOps tools and technologies such as CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.


  • Experience with virtual routers and firewalls.


  • Experience with service chaining and orchestration.
