Description: Job Description

Hexagon is actively seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer who has a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our global Public Safety software. The HxGN OnCall application suite, which encompasses web-based solutions for call-taking, dispatching, situational awareness, records management, mobile, and analytics, relies on the meticulous work of our QA Engineer. Public Safety Domain knowledge or experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prioritize, plan, and coordinate QA testing activities.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and functional design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
  • Apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet customer needs.
  • Collaboration with internal teams (e.g., developers & product managers) to identify testing requirements.
  • Review logs using debugging process results .


Qualifications

Education

  • BS degree in Computer Science or proven related technical discipline . Equivalent work experience may be accepted.


Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in manual software quality assurance testing is desired.
  • An understanding of QA testing theories and methodologies
  • Experience in a Public Safety Communications Center
  • The ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and a dedicated team player.
  • Ability to step up in a fast-paced environment and be accountable.
  • Strong problem-solving, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize/manage your time.
  • Willingness to learn modern technologies and develop skills to improve work performance .


Desired Qualifications

  • Public Safety sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of browser development tools
  • Experience in Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and PaaS & SaaS
  • Familiar with Agile Scrum Methodology
  • Applied knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio and SQL scripting
  • Experience with Playwright automated testing tools
