Post Doctoral Scholar to join the Department of Physics at The Ohio State University studying physics teaching, learning and culture. The Post Doctoral Scholar will embark on a program of independent research with the primary goal to determine how to increase equity and accessibility in physics. Duties will include conducting laboratory work centered around equitable physics learning and accessibility and inclusion in physics; leading manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. This position is for one year and is renewable based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Qualifications:
PhD in physics or a related field by the time of hire is required, along with a strong theoretical or practical background in using experience sampling methods to study experiences of postsecondary physics learners. Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining an experience sampling method research project; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and a collaborative mentality towards research and mentoring.
These required and desired skills should be demonstrated through a record of peer-reviewed publications.
