The Fiscal Services Accountant position performs various accounting and compliance functions associated with billing project sponsors for charges incurred on research projects administered by The Ohio State University, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). The job responsibilities include, performing various accounting transactional and analysis processes and procedures for the Fiscal Services unit within OSP. The job duties include collections and deposit applications; gathers project expenditure information; generates sponsor's invoices and fiscal reports. Prepares forms for letters of credit requests; produces electronic invoices and supporting documents to send to various sponsors; monitors sponsor project accounts, reviews guidelines and ensures compliance. The position also works to research and answer sponsors inquiries, resolves problems, and will utilize spreadsheets regularly.
The ideal candidate will be successful in this role if they demonstrate the ability to perform multiple tasks and to problem solve. Other essential skills and competencies strongly recommended include professionalism, strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to be customer service oriented.
