Duties: Independently administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians. Consult with clinical veterinary staff on treatment options. Assist veterinarians with procedures that include premed of dogs, assist pre-op anesthesia prep, post-op treatment and recovery of dog. Identify and restrain dogs for physical and eye exams. Candidate will also be responsible for immunizations, basic dog grooming, fasting dogs for procedures. Maintain meticulous animal health records in compliance with USDA and IACUC. Order dog food as per senior technican. Candidate must be organized, detail oriented, think independently and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent; 2-3 years experience as a Lab Animal Care Technician in a research setting. AALAS certification preferred. Flexible schedule and ability to to multi-task, required. Ability to lift over 50 lbs. on a routine basis-required.
Ability to bend, crouch and do physically demanding work on a daily basis-required.Ability to work well with others and work independently, be punctual /flexible-required.Ability to work weekends and holidays-required. Valid drivers license-required.
