Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Subject Matter Expert II will be responsible for providing intermediate support for the Set The Theatre project team. The SME-2-STT shall assist PACAF/A4 in developing, coordinating, and conducting actions to effectively exercise Battle Staff processes and shall expect to work a minimum of three Command Post Exercises (CPXs) annually, while performing all services outlined within established timelines. Primary Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist PACAF/A4 in developing and accessing strategy support plan desired effects and tasks by conducting research, compiling, and analyzing STT efforts to include access & agreements, investments (infrastructure & construction), and prepositioning in order to recommend strategy and investment decisions concerning the planning and implementation of STT initiatives across the Indo-Pacific theater. Requires extensive knowledge of Air Force processes with at least 10 years of field-level experience in any logistics, engineering, or security forces career field.
- Assist PACAF/A4 by developing exercise objectives to effectively exercise A4 AFFOR Battle Staff processes to include the input of the Joint Training Information Management System in accordance with the exercise's Program Objectives Actions and Milestone (POAM) timeline. The SME-2-STT shall institute crisis action procedures and playbooks, incorporate current operational concepts to create robust scenarios for input to PACAF/A37, Master Events Scenario Listing (MESL) to include de-confliction and synchronization of MSELs, Joint Manning Document (JMD), Deployment Requirements Manning Document (DRMD), Start-Ex data. In addition, the SME-2-STT shall participate in person, develop and present PACAF/A4 inputs as directed by PACAF Lead Exercise planner (PACAF/A37) for the Concept Development Conference (CDC), Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Mid Planning Conference (MPC), MSEL Development Conference (MDC), Final Planning Conference (FPC) and MSEL Synchronization Conference (MSC).
- Assist PACAF/A4 with ECG White Cell for AFFOR Staff with MSEL injects, responses to Requests for Information and inputs from exercise training audience. White Cell responses will be timely, accurate, and support approved A4 training objectives. The PACAF/A4 ECG staff should consist of experienced personnel with backgrounds representing the functional areas found within PACAF A4 Divisions and knowledge of INDOPACOM OPLANs and CPXs. Requires extensive knowledge of Air Force and Joint processes with at least 10 years of field-level experience in logistics, engineering, or security forces career field.
Additional responsibilities include post-conference After Action Reports to PACAF/A4, ECG meeting minute notes to PACAF/A4X, and coordination with INDOPACOM offices, functional managers, and A37 exercise planners to incorporate theater-wide contingency processes and logistics information systems into exercise design and PACAF A4 Battle Staff processes. Requires extensive knowledge of Air Force and Joint processes with at least 10 years of field-level experience.
Compensation Minimum: $120,000.00
Compensation Maximum: $150,000.00
