Detailing Manager

Responsible for contract sales support functions, including detailing, project management and coordination with Estimating and Purchasing. Establishes plans and strategies to fully utilize the Comsense system and Bluebeam to efficiently detail projects, create submittal packages and execute revisions. May be required to complete work individually as well as supervise a team of direct report employees. Detailing Department Manager is responsible for all Detailing, Project Management and partnership with Estimating/Purchasing Manager to ensure efficient and effective sales support functions.
Essential Functions
• Manage the sales support functions of the Detailing Department and Project Managers (as directed by Branch Manager)
• Continue to execute and deliver total opening focus vs. departmental focus
• Develop and upgrade employee skillsets on Comsense, BlueBeam and AutoCAD utilization
• Detail projects
• Maintain weekly/monthly backlog reports for distribution
• Lead Weekly Sales Support Meeting in partnership w/ Estimating Manager
• Partner with and support Precision Millwork Detailing employee as required and directed by Branch Manager
• Partner with and support Precision Systems team as required and directed by Branch Manager
• Performance Management and Performance Reviews of Direct Reports
• Training of new and existing employees.
• Required to work with supplier/vendor partners to ensure projects are profitable and assistance is given where required.
Minimum Qualifications
• 5+ years of related experience with the commercial door & hardware industry, required
• Excellent communication and problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with Comsense.
• Experience with AutoCAD, BlueBeam and/or other related architectural software.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proficient computer skills; including Microsoft Office Suite and Comsense
• Working knowledge of Doors, Frames, Door Hardware, Access Control and Specialties
• Exceptional Communication Skills - verbal and electronic
• Effective Team Player
• Successful candidate will be a self-starter, team player, deadline and goal oriented
Physical Demands
This job operates in a fast paced, demanding professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, photocopiers, fax machines and filing cabinets.
