The Role



This position is part of the Newport News Shipbuilding Reactor Servicing Engineering group, responsible for providing design and engineering support to service Navy nuclear reactors. Reactor Servicing Engineering offers a challenging, high paced, team environment with opportunity to excel and endless possibilities for professional growth. This position will be responsible for all New Construction platforms at NNS to include Engineering and Operations for FORD Class Carriers and VIRGINIA Class Submarine new construction reactor servicing and FORD Class Servicing and Refueling advanced planning. Reactor Servicing - Excellence at the Core.




Must Have



Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience; PhD and 4 years of relevant experience.


Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.




Nice to Have



Experience managing engineering workforce, knowledge of Reactor Servicing, familiarity with Ford Class and/or Virginia class platforms, proven leadership ability, experience with new construction shipbuilding contracts.
