Position/Location Specific Information
Lead Manufacturing Technician, LVLM, Third shift
This position is based out of our Grand Island, NY site within BioProduction Group.

What will you do?
Use of equipment that includes mixers, mills, blenders, pumps, filtration systems, packaging, and laboratory equipment.
Weigh, measure, and check raw materials with the assistance of a computer interface to assure batches manufactured contain accurate materials and quantities.
Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment. Identify and complete equipment troubleshooting for common failure modes.
Follow all safe practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments up to and including classified clean rooms.
Participate and lead Safety, Quality, and Efficiency discussions. Assist in coordinating and completing different action items for related project initiatives.
Complete and maintain compliance with the Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements. Ownership of the department's document update process and employee training.
Communicate and coordinate production and maintenance schedules across multiple departments.
Apply advanced knowledge to facilitate practical process improvement and problem resolution related to manufacturing of cell culture media. Perform related duties as required to meet the business goals and requirements.
How will you get there?
Education
High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
An associate's degree or equivalent is preferred.
Formal training in Lean, 5S, or manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.
Experience
4+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment is strongly preferred.
3+ years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
General understanding of technical, mechanical, and machinery equipment is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output. Demonstrated proficiency in coordinating, completing, and training others to accomplish department processes.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and may be required to stand for long periods while performing duties. Ability to squat, bend, and reach different items to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including work uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (when required), safety glasses, and gloves. PPE may also include a bump cap, face shield, and full/half-face respirators.
Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $25.78-$33.15.
